In an era of highly polarized politics, what can the Shambhala instructions on conversation teach us about engaging in political discussions?

This talk will present some of the key teachings by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche on the importance of mindfulness and exchanging oneself for the other. These teachings are relevant in our current political climate, which is often characterized as divisive, fragmented, and highly polarized. Participants will explore how these teachings might guide us when having political discussions, especially with those with whom we disagree, or who we feel threaten our view of a "good" or "just" society.

The topics in this series are inspired by Sakyong Mipham’s book, The Lost Art of Good Conversation. You don’t have to have read the book in order to enjoy the evening.

A $5.00 donation is suggested and may be paid when you register or paid at the door.
