In a chaotic and confusing world, how do we work with our own minds, with other people, and with our greater society to uncover sanity and goodness? Is society something that is ultimately confused, or is there goodness in human society?  Come explore the basic goodness of society through meditation, contemplation, and conversation.

We will explore our relationships with others, the aspiration to help our world, and specific aspects of social transformation. We will look at the Shambhala understanding of society, and what enlightened society might be. The course focuses on transforming four aspects of society:  relations with family (household), professional life, entertainment, and economy.

Two practices will be taught during the course: Shambhala Meditation, a practice of grounding ourselves and stabilizing our experience of basic goodness; and "sending and taking" (Tibetan: tonglen), a practice that cultivates compassion and openness.

Discounts are available by request.  If you already took this class, you are invited to repeat it at a cost of $20.
