Pacifying the Turmoil of the Maras: Year-End Practices for Dön Season

    Saturday & Sunday, February 3 & 4, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, In Person

    Free of charge (donations welcome)

In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, there is a period before Tibetan New Year (Shambhala Day) when accumulated karma comes to fruition and societal obstacles arise. This time of obstacles is known as the “dön season.”

We will be celebrating Shambhala Day on Saturday, February 10, this year. We are encouraged to practice as much as possible in the ten-day period leading up to Shambhala Day.

On February 3 & 4, we will join with the Shambhala Online community to purify obstacles of the old year. These sessions will include video talks by senior teachers in our community, followed by group recitations of the protector, mamo, closing chants, and will end with a local discussion facilitated by Alexander deVaron.
