    Room: Main Shrine Room

The meditation timekeeper, also known as umdze, has overall responsibility for our public meditation sessions. The timekeeper opens the Center; pays attention to the physical environment (orderliness, temperature, lighting); opens the shrines; leads chants (when appropriate); signals alternating sitting/walking periods; closes the shrines; and locks up the Center. Performing as a timekeeper is a brilliant opportunity to deepen your practice and serve the sangha.

Prerequisite : Being a Philadelphia Shambhala Center member and having a regular meditation practice for at least 6 months.
