Discovering true courage begins with making friends with ourselves. By developing a sense of wellbeing and appreciation for ourselves, we open a doorway to compassion and appreciation of others and our world.

In this two-day retreat you will explore how the sitting practice of meditation, along with contemplative practice and embodied exercises, can reveal the wisdom of your mind and lead you to your inherent confidence and bravery. Each retreat day consists of sitting and walking meditation, contemplative practice, talks and discussion, movement exercises, and mindful meals. Talks and discussions will be drawn from Gaylon Ferguson’s book Natural Bravery.

The retreat is open to everyone, experienced meditators and beginners, and people of all faiths and traditions. This weekend marks the beginning of the URBAN RETREAT. You are welcome to attend this weekend as an independent program.

Jude Robison has been practicing mindfulness meditation since 1980. She is currently a teacher and lead meditation instructor at the Philadelphia Shambhala Meditation Center. A student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, she discovered meditation at Naropa University where she went to study dance. Movement is fully incorporated in her mindfulness practice through Contemplative Dance Practice and other disciplines. She has an MFA in Book Arts from the University of the Arts.
