Midsummer's Day Celebration

June 16th (2018)

Date details +
    Room: Off Site Location

In the Shambhala tradition, our community gathers four times a year to celebrate the seasons. On Saturday, June 16th from 1-5 pm, we'll come together for Midsummer's Day. We’ll celebrate the summer solstice, share a backyard potluck picnic and – most importantly – enjoy each other’s company!

Please Note: We will not be gathering at the Philadelphia Center. This event will take place at the address below:

Tyca Farm, 3840 Gradyville Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073 (Fred & Francy Strathmann residence). Parking is available onsite.

All community members, including adults, children, and friends, are welcome to attend. Dress is casual; come prepared for sun and lawn games. You may wish to bring a bathing suit as well.

As this is a potluck, please bring your favorite summer dish to share (grills will be available). Please also bring your own chair (BYOC).

Lhasang at 3 pm: A lhasang is a traditional juniper smoke offering performed to purify the environment and bring down blessing. You are welcome to bring an object that is significant to you to put through the smoke offering. (Traditionally that might be a text or a mala or a shrine object, but you are free to interpret it as you wish.)

Call for volunteers! We are looking for a few volunteers for this event. Please contact Susie Anderson Laquer if you can help at susieandersonfibers[at]gmail[dot]com
