This workshop will introduce Death & Dying: A Guide, a practical and comprehensive resource created over the past two years by members of the Philadelphia Shambhala Meditation Center.  The Guide addresses the experience of dying and death and what preparations Buddhists might make to ease stress and enhance the experience, both for the one who is dying and for those who have the honor and responsibility of attending to a dying loved one.

This workshop will provide a survey of the Guide and facilitate discussion of the preparations for dying and death in the Buddhist tradition – considerations relevant to Buddhists, as well as their family members, friends, healthcare workers, chaplains and caregivers.  People of all religious traditions as well as those who do not follow a particular spiritual path are welcome.

Death & Dying: A Guide is available free online at:

A limited number of copies will be available at the event for a nominal fee.
