    Room: Main Shrine Room

It’s summer! Time to play Slogan Charades. The challenge? You and your partner will communicate one of the Buddhist Slogans (Lojong) to your teammates. Absolutely no prior knowledge of the slogans required. Learn about the slogans while you play a game.

And for those of you who prefer crafts to charades, we will have materials for you to make a small poster of your favorite slogan.

If you are curious about what the slogans are (or if you want to get a jump start on the game) you will find a list of the slogans, along with a commentary by Judy Lief at:

Join us for meditation from 9:00 to 10:30 (completely optional), followed by the game lead by senior teacher Jude Robison from 10:30 to 11:15, and bagels, coffee, and conversation from 11:15 to 12:00.

All are welcome.  There is no fee to attend, but a donation of $2-$5 is requested.

"I’ve been presenting the notion of society as really being just two human beings communicating at a personal, familial, community level. And especially this year, this can be manifested simply as the three things that we are celebrating — food, conversation and meditation. And I certainly hope that you are able to participate today in these foundational elements of our enlightened society: the richness of nutrition, food, and communication as we connect with each other through conversation, and by strengthening our minds through the practice of meditation."   Sakyong Mipham, Harvest of Peace Address, 2013
