The practice of the Paramitas or Perfections is at the heart of the path of compassionate beings. The Perfections are the practice of generosity, the wholesome conduct of our three doors of body, speech, and mind, patience, effort, concentration and mindfulness, and the wisdom of knowing. The basis of the path of compassionate beings is the recognition of the interdependent nature of all beings. The practice of the Perfections helps us to actualize this recognition so that all our actions are truly beneficial for ourselves and others. Through relying on the practice of the Perfections, the virtuous qualities of the mind of awakening arise in us and become the skillful means for clearing obscurations.

Tempa Dukte Lama is the founder and spiritual director of Olmoling Bon Buddhist Studies (based in Pittsburgh, PA). He trained in Menri monastery, India from the age of six under the close guidance of H.H. Menri Trizin Rinpoche, the worldwide spiritual leader of the Tibetan Bon Buddhist tradition. Tempa Lama has lived in the US since 2000 and teaches regular retreats in the US and Europe, in particular on healing practice and other core Bon practices, practices for the dying, the stages of meditation, and the path of compassionate beings.
